I went with 3 stars, although it probably is on the generous side, because I really liked the main characters. But the book could be much better than it is.1) The blurb Kindle displays and I saw when I first chose to download this book has absolutely nothing to do with the book. Seeing as the cover seems better suited to the blurb than the content, I suspect the wrong manuscript is contained.2) The writing is frequently tell-y and filter-y. Cleaning this up could significantly increase the quality of the book overall.3) The question of the fireworks issue is resolved but it is overshadowed by a more significant issue for a large section of the book and that issue is completely neglected in the conclusion. It is left hanging.4) I almost gave up on this book early on because of the predominance of the sex scenes in the first many chapters and the extremely graphical nature of the sex scenes. The scenes do fit the characterization and have impact on character development so they aren't there simply for their own sakes. They were just too much for my personal taste. This relates to the graphical details and descriptions that feel more like porn than anything else, not the gender of the partners involved.So my overall conclusion is that while I really like the two main characters and the development of their relationship, it wasn't a very satisfying read.

** 4.75 stars **This book is definitely better than the previous 2 books for me. I find it hard to connect with Thayne and Jarret as a couple and this book helped me a lot with this. The personal side of this story features not only s*e*x but also family ties and connections as much as Jarret's past which until now is really shady and makes him a dark horse. I liked that he was more open about himself and it made him more approachable for me and easier to like. Thayne on the other hand is very much an open book and the way he is with Jarret and his family really endeared him to me. So I am liking them more and more.As far as the case goes this one was absorbing, well-researched and well-written. The whole situation with mine workers and the mine itself shows not only the one person problem but the issues in the entire town and how the corruption and deceit affect everybody both as a whole and as individuals. It's a crime against miners' community and all their families. The support system is amazing among them and it helps Jarrett and Thayne to work faster and actually facilitates their way into the heart of the problem and finding its solution. I would have liked a little less of the coal mine lingo but I guess it was unavoidable in order to make it more genuine. The second part of the book was a page turner and I enjoyed it very much, it was the build up to it that was a little slow moving for me.Another small issue I had with this book was a tad too much inner monologue done by both MCs. I would have liked more conversation rather than internal musings spanning several pages at a time. It made me slightly impatient and I almost gave into the urge to skim *unforgivable finger twitch* some paragraphs. But I resisted.Otherwise I truly enjoyed both Tayne and Jarret and their recent adventure and I can say that I would love to read more bout them. I will recommend it!

I would have liked to give this book a higher rating if I had been able to but I can't so these 5 stars are given wholeheartedly. Although I enjoyed the first two books in this series this one somehow got to me - the love Jarrett is feeling for Thayne and the love Thayne is feeling for Jarrett just got to my feelers. The way the author described their feelings, their looks towards one another just makes you feel as if your there watching them... the way they make love either passively or aggressively just makes you want to sigh as you gaze at them from the corner of the room where you are secretly hiding. (Lol) Jarrett's interaction's with his father and his brothers was the best I have read about in quite some time as usually family is not very forgiving when confronted with differences. Now my most favorite part is when the main characters are in the mine trying to run out and get trapped because of the explosion they both feared so much and finally confess their love to one another... Oh my goodness these guys really just made me reach for a tissue to wipe my tears - So Sweet ! and please I will not talk about the Epilogue - was that not the best ending ever!!! Ms. Patricia Logan as always I bow to you... you as a writer are amazing.

I just struggled through a previous book but this one held my interest from beginning to end. Riveting reading to be sure. We get introductions to some of the passengers on this airplane and then the mayhem that took place following the plane crash. This part of the book, in particular, made the book difficult to put down. I didn't. The number of painful injuries mainly due to burns from spilled fuel oil caused some individuals to perish while others survived this terrible ordeal with permanent disfigurement. The book concludes with some legalities due to the malfunctioning propeller in one of the engines and what became of those who survived. I would highly recommend this book for your library. Great reading!

Author skillfully and tautly tells the story of a plane crash, focusing on the biographies of a few key figures: the crew, including the stewardess; the engineer who mistakenly passed the propeller that would fail; some of the passengers.The first half of the book is terrific, the part prior to the plane crash. The book was so well-written it was literally scary to read. The author, as he did in The Devil's Tickets, is one of the best out there at telling multiple stories in parallel while keeping their overall tone and rhythm.The second half of the book, although skillfully written and quite interesting, was very disturbing. The injuries of some of the passengers were horrific, and their aftermath was tragic and painful to read.

And that's how the remarkable flight attendant on the doomed ASA Flight 529 viewed her passengers, even before she and they spent nine minutes and twenty seconds of life-altering time together.These ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances prove themselves extraordinary. And the author, Mr. Pomerantz, in turn proves himself extraordinarily capable in capturing the drama, the feelings, the tragedy, and the triumph of the experience. This is one to listen to or reread again and again, perhaps when faced with our own crises, to bolster the spirit and know that we can face the unthinkable with courage and grace.

They were people just a plane trip, then it became something more. "Nine Minutes, Twenty Seconds" tell the story of ASA Flight 529 that crashed in Georgia and how on one day everyone on that that day the passangers, Flight attendent and the pilots were hero's regardless of their fate. The most intesting part for me, was after the crash, the investagators trying to find out why the happen. A great book!

Unlike Robert Slater's The New GE: How Jack Welch Revived an American Institution ( LJ 10/1/92), authors Tichy, a professor and GE consultant, and Sherman, a Fortune reporter, offer a deeper analysis of Welch's leadership practices and philosophies. The authors use the first person singular to signify an insider's (Tichy's) view, which is confusing at first. Furthermore, the addition of the "Handbook for Revolutionaries" (material developed at GE's executive education center in Crotonville, New York) makes Tichy appear to be a Welch convert, and the bias is sometimes too obvious. The repetition of ideas makes reading laborious. However, the authors do a substantial job in presenting the research, which included over 100 hours of interviews with Welch.
